Night of the 8th - 2 Portland Ribbon Waves plus Dark Sword-grass and RDPearls.

I saw a Hummingbird Hawk, abs beautiful about 5 cms long, interested in my lavender!! Sighted 9/9/11 4.30pm.

Further to the earlier listings Small Mottled Willow,4 Pearly Underwings,3 Dark Sword-grass,6 Rush Veneer and at least 120 Rusty Dot Pearl should be added.

Evening of 8th September: 10 Hummingbird Hawks, with 3 seen at the same time, numerous Silver Y and a single Rusty Dot Pearl. The frequency and numbers of Hummingbird Hawks makes me think they may be breeding locally, as may also be the case for the deep-winged Silver Ys
