The warmer evenings have arrived and after seeing two Painted Lady's earlier in the day there was an indication of some migration. Although not hugh numbers of migrants there was a single Evergestis limbata also 2 White Satin Moth's, 2 White Point, a single Small Mottled Willow and a Diamond Back Moth |

Humming bird hawk for last three days - today seen nectaring on buddleia, nepeta and spiked speedwell.
Silver y and red admiral also seen. Diamond backed moth in trap on 29th June. |

Small Mottled Willow recorded last night here at Wadhurst with a couple of Silver Ys.
Also, a Hummingbird Hawk seen nectaring on Nepeta at Ide Hill, Kent at 1500 Hrs on Thursday 30th June. |

Highlights from Irish sites this month include Blair's Mocha (5th Irish record) & 82 Rusty-dot Pearl by day at Great Newtown Head, Co Waterford on 30th June (Tony Bryant). Also 23+ Hummingbird Hawk-moths reported nationally in June, highest count 7 at Carrickavrantry, Co Waterford on 26th June (Tony Bryant).

Night of 30th June: 1 Bordered Straw taken in Ramsgate back garden running 2 x 125 MV's. Recent things included: 2 Hummingbird Hawks by day on 29th June, Plumed Fan-foot on night of 27th June and monthly peaks of 8 Silver Y's on night of the 12th and 7 on night of the 28th - very few others either side of these dates.
