Red Admiral flying + basking on raised bed in a private garden near Wandsworth Common, SW London at midday today-3/2/11. In good condition.

Red Admiral basking & flying on 18th.One was seen by others in Hampshire on 9th,11th & 19th,Brimstone on 15th and a Peacock on 7th(www.hantsiow-butterflies.org.uk).In Sussex a Peacock was seen on 9th & a Red Admiral on 16th(www.sussex-butterflies.org.uk).

19/1/11 a single Red Admiral seen basking in the winter sunshine on tarmac in the early afternoon. Very slow in movement when it did eventually move.

A Brimstone Butterfly was reported by Kate Wollen at Putley Court, nr Ledbury, Herefordshire on Mon 17th January at Noon.

Have just received a report of a female Vagrant Emperor dragonfly found ca. 10 January near St. Davids, Pembrokeshire. With the coming milder weather it might be worth looking out for others.

Morning of Saturday 11th December, very small Scarce Bordered Straw in MVL put out for Garden Moth Scheme!! Possibly emerged from larva jettisoned by mistake in composter which is near trapsite...
