28th - Who needs a light ? - Wet weather has prevented trapping for a few days but I put the ground sheet out to dry yesterday and left it over night.On it this morning was a Convolvulus Hawk-moth.

Gone slightly quiet on the migrant front here in Weston this week but my second Rusty Dot Pearl was trapped on Wednesday 25th Aug.

Convolvulous at nicotiana all this week. Night of 27th Aug ; now 12.45 at night and I have just been to the mv, turned up the last egg box to find a Death's Head hawk!!!! We dream about it for years, but when you see it, it is so much better than any dream could have been. WOW!!!!!!!!!!

Tamarisk Peacock (Godonella aestimaria) recorded at Newhaven (TQ458027) on night of 23 August. 2x30W actinic light on Skinner Trap. Flew in at approx 22.50. A first record, we think, for all Sussex!
