Last night at about 8.30pm a Hummingbird Hawk Moth visited our north London garden. This is the first time we have seen one here.

Single Dark Swordgrass in trap this morning and 6 Silver-y. First DSG for site this year.

Immigrant moth alert!

Orache Moth Trachea atriplicis at Dungeness on the night of 10 July (B. Banson) with a Vestal Rhodometra sacraria nearby at Sandwich Bay on the night of 9th.

Last night 10 July at Dungeness Kent ,Rush Veneer and European Corn-borer.2x80Watt and 2x125 Watt MV traps.

Migrant Butterfly alert!

Camberwell Beauty Nymphalis antiopa in a garden this afternoon (though unfortunately no access).

Night of 10 July: 1 Humming-bird Hawk-moth at light. The first of the year at light, though regular sightings by day in the last couple of weeks.

Friday 9th July, Queen of Spain Fritillary near Longis Bay (2nd island record) - Glanvilles still on the wing as good comparison. Many Humming-bird Hawks feeding & laying on bedstraw.
