NMN 15th May 2010
Stupidly cold out there. Ran 3 MVs at 2 sites, but turned them off at midnight. The two woodland traps totalled 23 species, nothing interesting. The suburban garden MV had 2 moths in it.

Last night usual small numbers of moths in traps at Longstone. Migrants were Rush Veneer 3.Recently small no's of Silver Y,Dark Sword-grass and Pearly Underwing.

Today a superb Hyalophora sp (Silk Moth) adult female was found by visitors at the Star Castle Hotel.

2 Red admirals basking & flying high in aerial combat on 30th April in Gosport,Hampshire.In Sussex 20 Red Admirals were reported on 30th April and a Painted Lady on 17th & 30th April & 1st May.
