Rush Veneer 10-the highest count for this species here this year,Diamond Back 1. Also back on the 15th by day a single clouded yellow.

Weds night 21/10/09:
Astonished to find an Oak Rustic in one of the traps today. Apparently no records west of Durlston so this potentially a primary immigrant?

Night of 18th: 1 Hummingbird Hawkmoth visited my 2x30W actinic light.

Sussex Butterfly Conservation has reported sightings of 7 different Queen of Spain Frittilaries in Oct 2009 near Chichester.Neil Hulme photographed a very fresh male mating with a newly hatched female on 13th.

Night of 18th Oct:-
Blair's mocha - looks like primary migrant rather than the form which has probably been temporarily resident here.

Night of 15 Oct:
Diamond-back Moth 1, Rush Veneer 1, Turnip Moth 1, Dark Sword-grass 1, Large Yellow Underwing 158, Setaceous Hebrew Character 1, White-point 6, L-album Wainscot 7, Angle Shades 12 & Silver Y 3.

Also a specimen of The Streak (rare here) and high counts of Large Wainscot (26) and Merveille du Jour (6).
