Night of 23 Sept:
Diamond-back Moth 11, Rush Veneer 11, Dark Sword-grass 1, Pearly Underwing 1, Pale Mottled Willow 3 and Silver Y 8.

Also trapped was a Silver Diving Beetle and 16 Harlequin Ladybirds.

Bedstraw Hawk-moth was trapped in Wednesbury, West Midlands (VC39) on the night of 22nd September by Tony Wood to 15W Actinic Skinner trap.

Much quieter than of late.

Migrants on night of 21 Sept:
Diamond-back Moth 2, Rush Veneer 7, Dark Sword-grass 1, Pale Mottled Willow 1 & Silver Y 4.

Migrants on night of 22 Sept:
Diamond-back Moth 11, Rush Veneer 20, Pale Mottled Willow 5 & Silver Y 7.

Also Deep-brown Dart (first site record since 2007) on the night of 22nd and Feathered Brindle - first of the year.

Night of 20 Sept:
Much quieter at the traps with clear skies and a cold NE wind.

Only 31sp noted including migrants as follows:
Diamond-back Moth - 2
Rush Veneer - 10
Silver Y - 2

Combined NMN total from the two nights stands at 99 species. An additional four species not recorded over these two nights were trapped last night: Spruce & Green Carpets, Common Rustic & Brown-spot Pinion.

Two nights' trapping on the coast at Newhaven for NMN09 produced the following migrant records: Diamond-back Moth (2), Rush Veneer (2), Dark Sword-grass (1), White-point (1), L-album Wainscot (39) and Silver Y (4).

Other notable species included Channel Islands Pug, Yellow Belle, Feathered Brindle, and Pinion-streaked Snout.

48 species and 355 moths altogether over both nights.
