Night of 14 August: 1 Convolvulus Hawk

Humming-bird Hawk-moth taking petunia nectar in my garden on 14th Aug.

Night of 13/8. 2nd Ni Moth of the summer.
Jersey Tiger and Four-spotted Footman must now be resident here, peak counts of 15 and 6 respectively in recent nights.

Single Bordered Straw, Diamond-back, Willow Ermine and Rusty Dot Pearl here last night

13/8 daytime. Single Clouded Yellow and Hummingbird Hawk-moth.

Single Bordered Straw here last night plus three Diamond-backs, but no Silver Ys!

in my back garden trap overnight. 1 or 2 Rush Veneers and a few Diamondbacks and Silver ys have appeared most night for the last few weeks. Good numbers of common moths at the moment.

Jersey Tiger trapped near Lincoln on the 11 August, could it be a genuine migrant?

4+ at Bromeswell fish ponds including a pair in tandem.

Eucarta amethystina-cumberland gem.Caught last night of 12/08/09.I have caught this species on and off since May(have only just identified it) Perhaps this one is a new generation on its way north to U.K. watch out!
