A big increase in the numbers of Large White today with 140 in the part of the cove immediate to the sea. Couldn't see any flying in off the sea so maybe they are local, but would be interested to hear if anyone else has noted any movement of this species.

An increase in the number of immigrants over the last 2 nights.

Hummingbird Hawkmoth x1 visiting Buddleia in my West Norfolk garden 11.08.09(first one seen in West Norfolk this year).

GYPSY MOTH - first site record.
Also Diamond-back Moth (18), Rush Veneer (1), Convolvulus Hawk-moth (1), Dark Sword-grass (21), Tree-lichen Beauty (10) and Silver Y (83).

Wanderers/scarce residents included Latticed Heath (4), Small Phoenix (1), Small Rufous (1), Twin-spotted Wainscot (1), Gold Spot (1) and Square-spotted Clay (2).
