2 small mottled willows this am - not many previous records noted in 4 of previous 18 years. Looks like its brewing up to be a good migrant insect year.

Following on from the first influx of Painted Ladies on the 11/5 a second huge influx has been entering the valley since the 22/5, peaking yesterday with a count across a thirty metre section of the garden of 100 passing through every 12.5 minutes. This rate continued throughout the day. Migrant moths are increasing but nothing out of the ordinary - yet! Steve.
