Numerous diamond backed moths here but I also recorded one the night of 16th May at m.v. light at Banchory-Devenick Aberdeen

4 Painted Ladies at Alverstoke,Gosport,Hampshire on 17th,probably including the one seen at Ewer Common on 16th.

Painted Lady taking nectar from Clematis montana at Ewer Common,Gosport,Hampshire.Sussex Butterfly Conservation reports 18 Painted Ladies 11th-16th & a Hummingbird Hawkmoth on 15th.

6 Diamond-backed Moths

At Magdalen Hill Down Reserve,Hampshire, on 11th May Matthew Oates saw a female Clouded Yellow and Patrick Fleet saw 4 Painted Ladies.

Anne McCue saw a Painted Lady in her garden in Gosport on 12th May and another in Botley Wood on 14th,both in Hampshire.
