15-5-09 : Painted Lady x 2 in our garden this afternoon (1st of the year) & Diamond-back Moth attracted to lighted window tonight.

Night of 14 May:

An influx of Diamond-backs P. xylostella with at least 213 trapped overnight.

Large numbers of Painted Lady (Belle Dame, in French) around at the moment. I counted at least 6 together on one roadside verge today. All very fresh-looking.

11/5/9- sustantial movement of Painted Ladies today.

Recorded a Dark Sword-grass to MV on the night of 7/8th May here in Wadhurst.

5/5/9 - First Pearly Underwing among 50 species recorded.

One newly emermerging Orache Moth on shutters at home in South Morbihan (Brittany) on afternoon of Tuesday 5th May. I didn't know what it was until it had dried out and its wings had gained their normal size
