6th June
Somewhat suprised to find a fresh Delicate in my back garden trap this morning. Northerly winds and very few if any migrants around. Could it be locally bred? |

I would be interested to hear of any large movements of Lithosia quadra into the UK. Huge numbers have been recorded here and in the Limousin over the past two nights for the second time this spring, the last occurred three weeks ago when similar numbers were seen.

Two superb male Red-veined Darters at Greenham common on 3/5 June, patrolling 2 barren looking ponds just SE of the Control tower car park. Often clashed with local Black-tailed Skimmers. New for reserve and possibly also new for West Berks (source NBN website)

Red-veined Darters
About a fortnight ago there was a very large influx of Red-veined Darters on the near Continent. I think Britain largely missed out, but within the last few days there have now been records from Norfolk, Suffolk, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Probably more to come! |
