16th. December, Peacock butterfly drinking on a muddy path in Duncliffe Woods.
17th. December, Red Admiral flying in bright sunlight in my garden.

Night of 12 December: 7 Silver Y, 1 Dark Sword-grass, 1 White-speck, 2 Crocidosema plebejana

12/12. U.ferrugalis (2),N.noctuella (2),Dark Sword-grass (1),Pearly Underwing (1),White-speck (46),Silver Y (1)

Red Admiral seen flying again at the same time and place as last week, Bewl Water,Wadhurst, again despite the wind.
Also seen a queen bumble bee and a worker feeding on Arbutus.Amazing for the time of year.

Red Admiral, active and flying in Penzance Town Centre outside a shop window at 16:00hrs on 07/12/2006, possibly attracted to lights.

Red Admiral flying and basking by Bewl Water, on the Wadhurst side of the reservoir today 6/12/06 at 1.00pm.Weather sunny but with a brisk wind.Quite suprising for the time of year.
