Rush Veneer (61), Scarce Bordered Straw (9), Pearly Underwing (6), Rusty-dot Pearl (6), Dark Sword-grass (5), Delicate (5), Silver Y (4), White-point (2), P. vitrealis (1). Northerly, but less moon; better.

Amongst the usual migrants many people are getting at present was a male Gypsy Moth(dispar). Morning of 7th September.

Weather conditions excellent with an excess of 500 moths caught each night with 50+ species. Migrants included
5th Sept Udea ferrugalis (1), White Point (33), Rush Veneer (2), Scarce Bordered Straw (8), Delicate (10), Silver Y (2), E. Cornborer (2), Small Mottled Willow (2) and Pearly Underwing (1) 6th Sept Scarce Bordered Straw (7),Delicate (4), White Point (23), Rush Veneer (6), E. Cornborer (4), Dark Sword-grass (1), Pearly Underwing (1) and Large Thorn (1) |

In what seemed like perfect conditions - just 5 S B Straw, 9 Rush Veneer, 2 Silver Y. Gave up after 1.5 hr. Remarkably hopeless, given last night's spectacle. Why ?
