The first dragonfly of the year has just (15/2/2019) been reported from the UK, on the coast of Anglesey, North Wales. Although not positively identified, given the time of year and the current southerly winds, it seems quite likely to have been a Vagrant Emperor Anax ephippiger.

Belated news of the first Irish record of Marigold Shark Cucullia calendulae taken at light on 25th December 2018 and confirmed by dissection (T. Bryant per K. Bond).
