I trapped a scarce and small gelechid micro-moth on St Martins, Isles of Scilly on 21/9/18. And it has now been confirmed as the second record for Britain of 35.0205 Dichomeris acuminatus. The first record was in Dorset on 28th September 2016.I struggled to upload a photo though - sorry - must be doing something wrong!!

on 22nd September, first night on St Agnes with 4 traps - windy and wet, but migrant moth numbers better than recently on St Martins:
Rusty-dot Pearl x 16 Rush Veneer x 2 Gem x 1 Convolvulus hawk - 1m & 1f Turnip x 1 Delicate x 2 Whitespeck x 11 and late news from St Martins on 21/9, is that a gelechid I trapped there might turn out to be Dichomeris acuminatus, which if proven will be a second record for Britain - consultations to confirm are ongoing! |
