Monarch butterfly in the bird observatory garden this morning. Also seen very briefly yesterday.

Clancy's Rustic trapped last night

I trapped a scarce and small gelechid micro-moth on St Martins, Isles of Scilly on 21/9/18. And it has now been confirmed as the second record for Britain of 35.0205 Dichomeris acuminatus. The first record was in Dorset on 28th September 2016.I struggled to upload a photo though - sorry - must be doing something wrong!!

On 23/9/18 numbers in traps down in cold NE wind, but ivy was calm and very good giving high numbers of Whitespecks etc:

and late news from St Martins on 21/9, is that a gelechid I trapped there might turn out to be Dichomeris acuminatus, which if proven will be a second record for Britain - consultations to confirm are ongoing!
