Migrant moth numbers still low in spite of some very warm southerlies! - 13/10/17. 8 traps plus ivy - (L. Finch, R. Hemming & me) our totals were;
Rusty-dot Pearl 52 (27) Rush Veneer 4 (1) Turnip 4 (4) Delicate 2 (1) White-speck 59 (71) Silver Y 2 (2) Gem 2m (0) Figures in brackets are previous night totals. Oh and a Scilly Shrew in one of the traps leaving nothing behind but wings & legs of moths and craneflies and poo of course. |

19 species of moths recorded on ivy including Pearly Underwing & several Dark Sword-grass. 12 light-traps operated in the grounds of Bawdsey Hall produced 73 species of moths; migrants as follows: 8 Rusty-dot Pearl, 3 Rush Veneer, 1 Convolvulus Hawk-moth, 1 Silver Y, 1 Dark Spectacle, 2 Scarce Bordered Straw, 4 Delicate, 2 Turnip Moth and 4 Dark Sword-grass. |
