Migrants - last night 7/10, (totals for 8 traps - Robin Hemming, Les Finch & me - less traps since Kevin Button went home!):
Rusty-dot Pearl 61 (44) Rush Veneer 5 (5) Silver Y 1 (1) Delicate 4 (2) White-speck 47 (90) Turnip 15 (18) Dark Swordgrass 5 (3) Pearly Underwing 10 (4) Palpita vitrealis 2 (0) Gem 2m (0) Ivy was OK but soggy in heavy mizzle - so less White-specks etc seen on ivy. However more sign of migrants apart from this. Figures in brackets are previous night totals. |

Migrant moth totals on St Agnes, Isles of Scilly - last night 6/10, (totals for 14 traps but winds all wrong for migrants! - Robin Hemming, Kevin Button & me - last night with Kevin and all his traps):
Rusty-dot Pearl 44 Rush Veneer 5 Silver Y 1 Delicate 2 White-speck 90 (54 on ivy!) Turnip 18 (most on ivy) Dark Swordgrass 3 (all on ivy) Pearly Underwing 4 (all on ivy) Ivy was really good for the first time in 2017 dry and with gentle winds - must be coming out just right ready for National Moth Night?! Maybe this again asks the question whether White-specks are breeding on the island? |
