27 September; 38 Red Admiral. Most concentrated near the coast and on ivy or basking in sunshine. Only 15 at neighbouring Benacre, further inland, despite vast amounts of ivy blossom.

Migrants were down again last night 26/9, but still some interesting records (totals are now for 13 traps - Robin Hemming, Kevin Button & me):
Rusty-dot Pearl x 27 (81)
Rush Veneer x 19 (19)
Silver Y x 1 (2)
Delicate x 4 (5)
White-speck x 8 (5)
Turnip x 6 (12)
Dark Swordgrass x 5 (3)
Pearly Underwing x 5 (1)
Vestal x 1 (0)
Endotricha flammealis x 1 (0) (is resident on Scilly, but 2 months after its normal flight period is likely to be a migrant?)
(figures in brackets are previous night totals)
In over a week now on the island the ivy blossom has been poor with most of it not out yet, but also weather conditions have been awful for checking the ivy - clear and with a heavy dew stopping moths flying onto it or raining and blowing a gale!
