Just been speaking to Paul Stanley, an excellent botanist on the Isle of Wight. He tells me in the past week alone he had a deaths head hawk moth fly into his car windscreen and then landed on the ground at Brighstone. He then tells me he saw a second Deaths head hawk moth on a wall in the village of Shorwell also seen in the past week. Sadly no pictures were taken.
