Yponomeuta plumbella one taken overnight. Presumed migrant. The 1st Northumberland record

Dark Crimson Underwing - third site record. Assorted suspects turning up in recent days in small numbers - Bordered Straws, Dark Swords, Rusty-dot Pearls, Rush Veneers. Only low numbers of Silver Y's & very few Diamond-backs.

Night of 21st July - Along with 3 Silver Y in my trap, noted a mystery moth which turns out to be a Shining Marbled (Pseudeustrotia candidula). Possibly a first for Essex.

22nd July - Hummingbird hawkmoth in garden feeding at Buddleia.

Night of 21 July: Palpita vitrealis trapped at Ashford.

Night of 19 July: additional records of Psammotis pulveralis have surfaced from Bracklesham, West Sussex and Totland, Isle of Wight.
