Very fresh Cydia amplana to light at Waltham Brooks on Tuesday night, ahead of the thunder storms.

This morning, after a thunderstorm last night, we captured a fresh Marbled Clover Heliothis viriplaca, in a Robinson light-trap at West Walton, Norfolk. It was in perfect condition. There are no previous records for the village and surrounding land, despite some light-trapping locally since 2008.

Night of 18 July: 1 Diamond-back Moth, 1 Oncocera semirubella, 2 Sitochroa verticalis, 1 Latticed Heath, 1 Convolvulus Hawk-moth, 1 Rosy Footman, 4 Silver Y, 5 Dark Sword-grass, 1 Small Mottled Willow, 1 Mere Wainscot and 6 Tree-lichen Beauty.
Also a single Common Darter to MVL. |
