2 more Vestal last night (26 August)at Tolpuddle, Dorset plus 9 Rusty-dot Pearl, 9 Rush Veneer and 7 Silver Y.

25/8: 2 each of Palpita vitrealis and Vestal plus a Channel Islands Pug.

26th August.
Clouded Yellow (1), Painted Lady (2) and Silver Y (12).

Convolvulus Hawkmoth and a Vestal on the outside of the traps last night

Beautiful Marbled (Eublemma purpurina) in trap this morning.

Thurs night 25/8 at Prawle Point trapping with Steve Whitehouse & Mark Marshall - weather was not as good for migrants or moths in general. Heavy rain overnight with colder N wind and going clear late in night meant temps dropped to 13c
But still over 110 species recorded.

Migrants recorded were at least;

Cydia amplana x 1(very worn)
Vestal x 2
Silver Y x 43
Dark Swordgrass x 24 (including 18 in the best trap!)
Scarce Bordered Straw x 1

Interesting that Vestal and Dark Swordgrass numbers were up on previous night (and Convolvulus)

3 Vestal to MV on 25/8, also Nephopterix angustella which tends to occur on migrant nights here in Monmouthshire.
