600+ Diamond-backs to garden MV overnight. Got up at 04:20 to stop an exodus but that number makes finding other micro species very difficult!

83 Diamond-back Moth in the trap, with many more in the grass around the trap. Also a single Dark Sword-grass. |

Coast path. Diamond Back moths everywhere. Silver Ys same. most fresh, Red Admiral 3, Painted Lady 10+, all fresh. Broad Bodied Chaser 2, never seen here before. Migrant? |

Diamond-backed Moth
Daytime counts on 4acre site. 2/6 25 3/6 400 4/6 25 5/6 16 6/6 2,000 at 15.00 had increased to an excess of 20,000 by 20.00. There was 50+ Silver Y's at 15.00 but none later. The DBM's are in vast numbers all over the island including the centre of the town and inside my car ! The traps are only catching a max.of ten per night along with low no's of regular migrants. |
