To 125W MV light last night (3rd): Diamond-back Moths Plutella xylostella 437, Silver Y Autographa gamma 2.
A flowering Cordyline in my front garden at home had many hundreds of xylostella resting and apparently nectaring on the tiny flowerheads. Dusking close to home last night, a conservative estimate of at least 2000 xylostella were seen along a one mile stretch of downland footpath between Denton (TQ459020) and Bishopstone (TQ470006). |
