last night's moth counts of migrants from St Agnes (11/10), Isles of Scilly were probably down again from 9 traps plus ivy. A biting NE wind kept moths away from the more exposed traps.
Moth counts were; Rusty-dot Pearl x 11 Rush Veneer x 22 Palpita vitrealis x 2 Red Admiral x 2 (in trap) Hummingbird Hawk-moth x1 (in trap) Dark Swordgrass x 3 Pearly Underwing x 3 Delicate x 4 White-speck x 9 Silvery x 4 Scarce Bordered Straw x 3 Small Mottled Willow x 1 |

migrant moths from last night were down a bit on St Agnes, Isles of Scilly, 10/10:
Rusty-dot Pearl x 16 Rush Veneer x 38 Palpita vitrealis x 2 Dark Swordgrass x 3 Delicate x 7 White-speck x 10 Hummingbird x 1 Silver Y x 22 Scarce Bordered Straw x 5 Diamond-back x 1 Lower numbers, but Silver Ys increasing. and with north easterlies forecast then that might be it for us for good numbers of migrants! 10 traps - R Hemming, K Button, A Goddard, D Grundy. |
