11 traps were run on St Agnes, Isles of Scilly last night - 6/10, but there was a howling NW gale for most of the night and heavy rain showers.So moth numbers were low and migrant numbers were even lower, with one trap completely empty!
Migrant moths were; Diamond-back x 1 (found by day) Rush Veneer x 10 Silver Y x 1 Scarce Bordered Straw x 1 White-speck x 2 Rusty-dot pearl x 1 An anticlimax after the previous night! D Price, A Goddard, S Watkins, R Hemming, D Grundy, K Button |

Male Vagrant Emperor dragonfly (Anax ephippiger) found by Niall Keogh on board a boat ca. 45 miles off the south coast of Ireland on 6 October.

14 traps run plus productive ivy by people here on St Agnes, Isles of Scilly last night - 5/10. It was a very balmy night - maybe 16c min with much gentler winds from the south. Minimum figures for migrants were as follows;
Diamond-back Moth x 1; Tunbridge Wells Gem x 1 (K. Button); White-speck x 6; Small Mottled Willow x 1; Cosmopolitan x 1; Vestal x 3; Pearly Underwing x 3; Delicate x 2; Convolvulus Hawk-moth x 3; Rush veneer x 47; Rusty-dot Pearl x 7; Scarce Bordered Straw x 3; Silver Y x 4; Palpita vitrealis x 2; Old World Webworm x 1; Hummingbird Hawk-moth x 1 (in trap). |
