Trapped at Prawle Point again last night (30/8). Most of the night was heavy rain and the rest was torrential!
Migrant counts were; Rusty-dot Pearl x 17 (35 previous night), Rush Veneer x 27 (59), Vestal x 3 (2), Convolvulus x 1 (3), Dark Swordgrass x 45 (18), Pearly Underwing x 5 (4), White-point x 5 (1), Delicate x 1 (0), White-speck x 6 (1), Angleshades x 52 (9), Small Mottled Willow x 2 (1), Bordered Straw x 1 (1), Scarce Bordered Straw x 4 (0), Pale Mottled Willow x 1 (0), Silver Y x 46 (42) Not a bad night's trapping! |

Night of 30 August: 8 Vestal, 1 Small Mottled Willow, 2 Dark Sword-grass, 1 Tree-lichen Beauty, 1 Metalampra italica. A total of 337 Setaceous Hebrew Characters in three traps, most of which arrived after midnight, was impressive and may have related to immigration. Spectacular lightening storm over the sea.

Stanny Farm, Iken: 1 Diamond-back Moth, 1 Rusty-dot Pearl, 2 Rush Veneer, 2 Latticed Heath, 15 Vestal, 1 very tatty Convolvulus Hawk-moth, 2 Small Mottled Willow, 3 Dark Sword-grass and 2 Silver Y. |
