In nursing home garden close to Wandsworth Common Station today Hummingbird Hawkmoth nectaring at jasmine flowers, Silver-Y + briefly flying around a Jersey Tiger. The latter species probably locally bred as third consecutive season Jersey Tigers seen here.

Attached is an image of a possible Borkhausenia minutella, taken at a trap in Blackawton on the night of the 25th July. It will go to the County Recorder for a specific determination. If accepted, it would be the first record for a species previously thought extinct in the UK.

Belated news from Lincolnshire on the night of the 1 July the presumed migrant Tebenna micalis was enticed near Bourne.

Night of 25 July: 7 Diamond-back Moth, 2 Willow Ermine, 2 Bird-cherry Ermine, 3 Rusty-dot Pearl, 3 European Corn-borer, 2 Dark Sword-grass, 6 Small Mottled Willow, 1 Bordered Straw (dark home-bred example) and 34 Silver Y.

One Diamond-back moth in garden trap last night (26th); one Small Mottled Willow in garden trap on 22nd. July.
