Friday, 12th June: One Humming-bird hawk-moth at Dunster Castle, Somerset and one Red Admiral (the only one I have seen this month!) at Lynmouth, Devon

Small Mottled Willow, Bordered Straw and a Silver Y were good to see in my back garden 125 MV this morning amongst a much improved catch here in Bodenham.

13 June...dull overnight skies brought 13 Silver Y and 3 xylostella. Still no sign in my garden of any of the ten million Bordered Straw I estimated occupying a three mile stretch of Algarve coast a month age!!

Night of 11th June, one Small Mottled Willow in our 15w actinic trap. First record for VC 55 since 2011.

Unaable to trap on Thursday evening (11 June) but 6 Silver Y and 2 Bordered Straw nectaring on our Red Valerian just after dusk.
