A Bordered Straw in last night's (7th) MV trap was first for the garden.

7/6/15 : Red Admiral and Painted Lady Butterflies (singles of each) were seen in the garden today,
2 Hummingbird Hawkmoths were seen nectaring at Valerians this evening.

Night of 6/6/15 : Silver Y Moth & Diamond-back Moth came to MV light. Away from the light several Silver Y Moths were seen visiting Valerian flowers.

6/6/15 : Painted Lady Butterfly & Hummingbird Hawkmoth seen in the garden this morning.

BORDERED STRAW 6/6/2015 in trap. First for this part of the country for some years, I think.

2 male Red-veined Darters at Mullion today (T. Blunden). One also seen yesterday at Windmill Farm (D. Wright). Widespread arrival of Painted Lady and Humming-bird Hawk-moths on the peninsula.

Coverack area: 14 Painted Lady, 1 helice Clouded Yellow, 1 Red Admiral, 3 Humming-bird Hawk-moths
