A Painted Lady by the Ouse Washes at Sutton Gault was the first of my season, no doubt brought up by the humid southerly air. Back at home, a Red Admiral had arrived in the garden.

3 Small Mottled Willows to the garden actinic last night. Also one recorded in Marloes nearby.

Best migrant night since 2006 here in my garden. 5 Small mottled Willows, 3 Bordered Straws, Pearly Underwing and a Silver Y were in the trap. A Red Admiral is flying around the garden.

A Striped Hawkmoth, Pearly Underwing, 3 Dark Sword grass, 2silver Ys, a Rush Veneer plus Turnip if you count it. With Dave Grundy running 10 traps between us.

Clouded Yellow (1), Painted Lady (7), Red Admiral (1), Silver Y (2) & Bordered Straw (1). Also on returning home Rush Veneer (1) found in my garden at Gwinear, nr Hayle ................... definitely putting the moth trap out tonight!!!!!! |
