Single Tebenna micalis around Fleabane at Newhaven on the 24th.
Two Tebenna micalis around Fleabane at Peacehaven on the 26th.
Presume these are all primary migrants? Fingers crossed for colonisation attempt!

Bordered Straw to Actinic/synergetic combo at Saltdean on 22nd.
7 Silver-y seen in daylight on Downs above Saltdean on the 17th.
30 + Painted ladies along the coast between Brighton and Telscombe Cliffs on the 12th.
Not a migrant, but maybe of interest: Pammene agnotana found new to Sussex on the 11th.

Another Bordered Straw in trap 27th May, different to previous night's specimen.

Bordered Straw in trap last night, 26th May 2015. Only other moth of note was Chinese Character.

after what seems like weeks of cold west and north west winds and continuing meagre catches, I was surprised to find a silver Y in the trap this morning.

Late news from 23rd May, when a Striped Hawkmoth was trapped on the Lizard.

A superb Striped Hawkmoth was great reward for a night trapping on the Downs. The 4th county record, I think.
