At Coverack on The Lizard today quite a few butterflies (Small Tort, Large White) coming in off the sea from the east, despite a headwind.

Night of 10th July: 1 Silver Y and a big increase in Diamond-back Moth to 83.

Night of 10 July: 133 Diamond-back Moth, 2 European Corn-borer, 1 Bedstraw Hawk-moth and 4 Silver Y.

Night of 6 July:

Singles of Peach Twig Borer and Oncocera semirubella to light.

A second Plumed Fan-foot at Hythe, Kent, also Sussex Emerald, Pigmy Footman, Small Ranunuclus and 3 Plutella xylostella.

Moth Night 3 July with Brian Jones,9 lights,Woodland. Only migrant 1 Diamond-back in 162 species. However, highlight was 45 Four-spotted Footman on revisit for the species after 6 males taken on 22 June. 7 of the 45 were females, pictured.

Night of 5 July,solo effort with 4 lights, Woodland-arable field margin, 164 species including 13 Diamond-back, 1 Silver Y and 1 E.limbata, probably now having a foothold in the area.
