Apparently a British Mainland first - taken at MV light in my Bracklesham garden on the night of 18 May a female Pungeleria capreolaria - Banded Pine Carpet.

Not a migrant, but interesting early record of Buff Arches on 18th May

A Red Admiral 'battered' Northwards past me today at Bold Heath near Widnes.

An intriguing report (by a relative) of a Black-veined White observed closely at Hartland, North Devon on 14 May. He's not an expert but knows most of the white species. He was convinced it was one, but sadly didn't have his camera to hand.

Night of 18th May; Blair's mocha - but it looks more as if it has just flopped down from the large holm oak near the trap, rather than flown very far! - who knows? I have found larvae in my garden but not for quite a few years now.
