Night of 18-Nov, a single Agrotis ipsilon Dark Sword-grass.

Plumed Prominent hunt near Chedworth, Glos., with Peter Hugo et al resulted in;
16th Nov - 1 x Silver Y 17th Nov - 1 x Rusty-dot Pearl 1 x Dark Swordgrass (also non-migrants; 16th Nov = zero Plumed Proms, but on a warmer night - 17th Nov = at least 51 Plumed Proms) |

18th November.
A single Rusty-dot Pearl was found at Marazion. 6 very early instar Red Admiral caterpillars were collected from a patch of nettles on the outskirts of Truro. Does anyone know if it is possible to overwinter Red Admiral chrysalis or are they likely to hatch in the winter months? |
