A single Vestal last night, only my second in Derbyshire and a major rarity this far North and so far inland.

A walk along coast path towards Porthcurno produced four Clouded Yellow, 50 plus Red Admiral, four Silver Y and five Rush Veneer.

Hummingbird Hawkmoths 1 at Porthgwarra,1 at Nanquidno another at Pendeen.
A vestal at Porthgwarra along with Rush Veneers everywhere. 6 Clouded Yellows at Porthgwarra and one at Pendeen. Approximately 80 Red Admirals on one clump of ivy at Nanquidno was a wonderful sight. It would be nice to see what moths are there tonight! |
