Night of 5th September:
Very good migrant influx for this part of the world! All to 125W MV Robinson and 80W MV Skinner. 26 Silver Y, 6 Diamond-backed Moth, 2 Dark Sword-grass and 1 Vestal (the first Pink streaked var. I have seen and first record for the garden!) Additionally, good numbers of Silver Y and a single Dark Sword-grass at Ryton Pools Country Park, Warwickshire this morning among a 34 macro species catch! Exciting times!! |

5 Diamond-back Moth, 2 Eudonia angustea, 2 Rusty-dot Pearl, 1 Rush Veneer, 1 Clay Triple-lines, 3 Latticed Heath, 1 Gypsy Moth, 13 Dark Sword-grass, 1 Tree-lichen Beauty, 1 Beautiful Marbled, 66 Silver Y and a Red Admiral at light. Single Western Conifer Seed Bugs on each of the previous two nights. I've not heard many reports of these this year, are people still catching them or are they considered resident? |

06 Sep - Humming bird hawk nectaring in garden this morning though one has been using neighbour's garden for 3 days.
Last few nights a few Silver Y and diamond backs. Up to 4 white points (annual since 2009), and a single Lobesia littoralis to MV on 2nd (annual since 2008), may or may not be migrants. |
