Night of 18th Aug. Good weather back again. Resident migrants all present - four spotted footman, tree lichen beauty and Blair's mocha. Recorded my highest total of Jersey tigers for many years 47, and also this wonderful ab.flava of the rosy footman

About 50 Clouded Yellow on coast path between Maenporth and Rosemullion Head and 300+ in the fields adjacent. There was a scattering - about 15 - of Painted Ladies on morning walk 19/08.

Night of 15/08/13 - 1 Gem in my garden, my first UK specimen backed up by a few Plutella xylostella's and 15 Silver-Y's

Rough estimate of 20-30 Clouded Yellow,(4 helice) - females laying eggs on Clover and Birds-foot Trefoil. Several nectaring on Autumn Squill.
Also 4 Hummingbird Hawks,Common Blue,Grayling,Small Tort,DG and SPB Fritillary, Wall brown, Whites, Small Copper, Peacock, Painted Lady, Red Admiral, Small Heath, Gate Keeper, Speckled Wood. |

trapping at Borth Bog, Ceredigion on Fri 16/8 with 6 traps - migrants were;
3 Silver Y 2 Dark Sworgrass and best migrant of the night - 1 Scarce Bordered Straw (Also seen were 85 Rosy marsh moths and 1 Crambus silvella among other moths) |

A Vestal was a surprise in the trap this morning - the only other migrants were 2 Silver Ys. The other notable feature was 200+ Flame Shoulders, which is easily a record for the site.
