Night of 10th Aug. vitrealis 2, and Blair's mocha. Dark crimson underwing recorded in mature oak woodland in the North East part of the Isle of Wight.

Rusty dot Pearl was the first for 2013 in back garden trap.

10/8: Stunned to find a Scarce Chocolate-tip in the trap. I think only the third County record.

10/8- Predannack cliffs - 2 Clouded Yellow,3 Painted Lady, Silver Y everywhere.

Night of 10th of August
Vestal, 25 Silver Y and 5 Diamond-back Moth. A helicopter also circled the location.

7th August:Barry Collins counted 140 Clouded Yellows on a field of lucerne on Thorney Island,West Sussex,east of Portsmouth.He also reports thousands of Silver Y Moths(www.sussex-butterflies.org.uk).

Night of 9 August: Gem - 1 male, Silver Y - 40, Rush Veneer - 2, Willow Ermine - 1, Diamond Back - 1. Also Small Red-eyed Damselfly to light, 22 Garden Tiger and 13 Ruby Tiger.

I have a tiger moth in my garden which has been here for the last week.

This morning's catch in my MV trap included Diasemia reticularis

Night of 9 August:

326 Diamond-back Moth, 9 Rush Veneer, 1 Latticed Heath, 10 Turnip, 13 Dark Sword-grass, 2 Tree-lichen Beauty and 587 Silver Y.

Also 3 Garden Tiger and 13 Ruby Tiger.

A Scallop Shell was the first area record.
