1 Bird-cherry Ermine, 1 Willow Ermine, 75 Diamond-back Moth, 1 Rusty-dot Pearl, 3 Latticed Heath, 4 Turnip, 2 Tree-lichen Beauty, 26 Dark Sword-grass and 376 Silver Y. Also 2 Garden Tiger and c20 Ruby Tiger. A Small Wainscot was the first area record and a Beautiful Hook-tip only the second. An Ant-lion was also attracted to light. |

No tigers, unfortunately, but my first record of a Gypsy Moth

45 Silver Y, 1 Dark Sword Grass and a Palpita Vitrealis in the garden trap last night.
|

|
The first night of Moth Night 2013 produced a drop in the conspicuous increase in Silver Y's the previous night. But a Painted Lady had arrived at the trap by 22.00, in keeping with an increase in daytime sightings of this species in recent days. Also a Palpita vitrealis this morning
