Not a migrant, but a Silver-washed Fritillary was feeding on Buddleia in my garden today. New site record and not bad for a town garden!

1 Bird-cherry Ermine, 1 Spindle Ermine, 88 Diamond-back Moth, 4 Rush Veneer, 1 Vestal (red-striped male), 1 Gem (male), 1 Latticed Heath, 1 Pigmy Footman (rare migrant here), 2 Turnip, 3 Dark Sword-grass and 165 Silver Y. Also 3 Garden Tiger and 20 Ruby Tiger. |

Aug 7th: 4 Clouded Yellows flying east along the coast & stopping to take nectar from Ragwort;2 females,including 1 helice seen by Dave Thompson on holiday from Cheshire;another helice seen by Ian Calderwood.Jersey Tiger,disturbed on a cloudy but very warm midday by the sea,flew close to the ground almost hovering just in front of my feet before disappearing into a bramble bush.Later in afternoon sunshine 2 male Oak Eggars flew rapidly around.The temperature nearby reached 25.1 C,the highest recorded in the UK.Just before sunset 100 Silver Y Moths started taking nectar from my garden Buddleias.
