Night of 29th July: Four-spotted Footman - 2 males to 125W MV.

Highlights in the traps this morning were 9 Dark Sword-grass and 14 Diamond-backed Moth.

Have just found a Garden Tiger Moth in my courtyard this morning (10 am), very excited as I have never seen one before. Wonderful colouring however seemed to be a bit 'sluggish' but unsure if it is to do with the time of day or because it is very windy today.

3 Hoary Footmen taken in Evington, Leicester on 15th, 17th & 18th July (A.J. Mackay / A.P. Russell). One has been gen detted to confirm. These are WAY outside the known UK range of this species, and may have been migrants.

Walking on the cliffs yesterday I saw a number of Red Admiral Flying north and straight out to see. This morning there were at least 16 Red Admirals on a large Buddleia.

Two Bisigna procerella mating - capture in my trap on Friday 26th July 2013.

Night of 28 July- 1 Small Mottled Willow, 1 Dark Sword Grass, 14 Silver Y, 1 nubilalis, 1 noctuella and 1 Diamond-backed.

Night 28 July - 1 Dotted Footman,1 Reed Dagger, 1 European Corn borer, 1 DSG, 3 Silver Y and 1 Rush Veneer. All presumed migrants.
