Local weather forecasters claim the jet stream has at last moved north and this is the first time since 2006 an Azores high has reached us since 2006. Remember 2006!

I had 20 second views of what I'm 95% sure was a Violet Carpenter Bee (sensu lato) in the garden at Dingestow Court at 11:45 this morning. The right size, dark & metallic, with brown on its wings. I'l keep looking and will keep the camera handy.

Autographa gamma Silver Y and Plutella xylostella Diamond-back Moth last night in the Butterfly Conservation trap.

Ostrinia nubilalis European Corn-borer last night.

I normally trap from my home in Hampton Magna, but last week I ran my trap from a friends house in St Ives. Fortunately their house is set on the cliffs above the bay so the mv was beaming happily out to sea! Among others, on 26th June, I caught;
