On 1st May,only our 2nd warm spring day on the Gosport coast of Hampshire,I saw my first Orange-tips,a male & female,and also a female Brimstone,Large White 4,Small White 28,Holly Blue 3,Small Tortoiseshell 4,Peacock 13,Comma 6 & Speckled Wood 13,Total 74.At last the Blackthorn & Cherry blossom are coming out and trees are coming into leaf.Will spring now be rushing through like a very late express train?

Just returned from a trip to Portugal. Hundreds of Clouded Yellows about, easily the most common butterfly and more than enough to spare a few to come over here. |
