An impressive variety of migrants last night that included: Dewick’s Plusia, Clancy’s Rustic, Oak Rustic, Dark Sword-grass, Rusty Dot Pearl, Delicate, Scarce Bordered Straw, Rush Veneer, Silver-Y and Palpita Vitrealis.

Good Grief! Something to raise the spirits (slightly) 1 x Gem, 1 x White-point (probably resident), and 1 x Blair's Mocha amongst 60 or so moths.

Night of 18th the usual pickings of about 25 moths, including garden firsts Mallow, Blair's Shoulder-know, Spruce Carpet and November Moth Agg. Large Ranunculus still turning up, but no migrants.

Night of 18 October (a fantastic mid-October haul of 53 species on a warm humid and wet night): 1 Diamond-back Moth, 1 Crocidosema plebejana, 12 Rush Veneer, 4 Turnip, 4 Dark Sword-grass, 78 Large Yellow Underwing, 1 Pearly Underwing, 24 L-album Wainscot, 1 Dotted Chestnut (about third Suffolk record), 13 Angle Shades and 1 Silver Y.
Also late records of Chinese Character and Vapourer; a Silver Diving Beetle and two Common Darters to light. |
