Cool clear night, but one Convolvulus Hawk-moth in garden trap

Night of 4 October: Clifden Nonpareil ( Catacola fraxini ) to MV lamp at approx 2330hrs.

Night of 7 October, Single Silver Y at dusk in poly-tunnel.

Night of 6th October. 3 Silver Y and 1 Dark Sword-grass. May not sound like much but Dark Sword-grass very unusual for my Midlands garden!

Night of 6 October: 1 Rush Veneer, 3 Turnip, 5 Dark Sword-grass and singles of Pearly Underwing and Dusky-lemon Sallow.

7th October
11 Cosmopolitan to mvl in past 10 days, despite dreadful weather. We are still unsure if the species is resident here, whereas Delicate, which is also appearing now, certainly is. South-migrating Red Admirals are coming to mvl quite frequently (5 yesterday.)

Night of 5 October: Dewick's Plusia - will be on view at Troy Town Chalet on Sunday 7 October.
