Night of 20th September, first Convolvulus Hawk of 2012 here - usually lots by now. Autumn residents starting to appear in big numbers: Beautiful Gothic, Feathered Ranunculus, Spanish Carpet etc.

Night of 19th September, 2x Silver-Y, 1x Brown-spot Pinion, 1x Barred Sallow and 1x Large Ranunculus being the highlights of a small catch.

Just one Silver Y to MV overnight on the 19th suggests that the spate of records for this species is coming to an end. So far a poor migrant year here; 2 White-points earlier in the month might have been locals - and that's about it!

Night of 19 Sept - Clifden Nonpareil. First garden record. Like to think it was an immigrant but just as likely to be a local wanderer. Only other migrant 1 Silver Y.
